He liked the way the sword felt in his hand. He enjoyed the clang it made against bones. If only he could have seen the troubles it would create.
"Max is that you?"
Anna lee the love of his life. She lived in fear of people. Continually asking if that was Max making the noise and not someone else.
She Feared Others
"Yeah it's me."
He saw the small girl with bright orange hair run into his arms. She held him tightly and he spun her around. The love they have for each other filled the air. Almost like the scent of a candle.
"I missed you."
"I missed you too, darling. What did you do today?"
Anna lee went on for hours about how she made clay art and wrote some poetry. While she rambled on and on, Max made them dinner. A small, easy dish of rice and smoked sausage. One of Anna lee's favorites. She adored the idea of simple home cooked meals. They made her feel safe, as she once said. When the food was done, Anna lee set up the table and set the food down while Max poured blood-red wine into glasses for them. When he sat down, he started talking to Anna lee about anything and everything. Anna lee watched him. She knew she was truly in love.
"Maxwell open up!"
A loud voice boomed through the small house. Max got up and opened the door, there stood three tall and lean men. From where Anna lee stood, she couldn't hear a thing the said. But from where Max was, he could hear everything fall apart.
"I have to go."
And without a word from Anna lee, he left out the front door. Leaving a crying, scared girl. Little did she know she was so much safer than she had ever been with him.
