Trope: Gaia's Lament, WC: 540
"My- god, this place looks like a mess." A man with striped brown cape, collar sticking out, having gloves on his hands that had clocks on the back of it, one holding what appears to be two hands of a clock joined together. He crouched down on to the dried, pale ground, patterned with cracks, rubbing his hand on it. "Hm...it feels dry, not a surpris- oop-" His top hat almost fell off, he quickly caught it pressed it onto his head. "I have to tape this onto my head at some point."
Beside him, was a female with long, golden hair, it's length reaching her waist. She had a huge, pink and white umbrella, sheltering both her and the male beside him, her white dress swaying gently as wind passed by. "Why are we here, Phoduen?" She turned to him.
"Well, we're here to...I don't knowwww, maybe have some fun? Try to change the world by taking care of the overpopulation problem?" He turned to her with a grin.
"But the fate of this world is to remain this way." She replied, huffing.
"Ohhh, come on, Cecilia! Don't even try, you make yourself sound like you've never done it before." Phoduen rolled his eyes, chuckling.
"I have not. What do you mean?" She eventually chuckled as well. "Yeah, yeah. Let's get to it. This place makes me feel uneasy. What if there's this huge earthworm under the grounddd?" She made a shocked face, followed by a small huff and a smile as they began to walk towards the forest of steel and metal.
"Oh nooo, whatever shall we, interdimensional beings do?!" Phoduen played along before wiping his hands on his clothing, and following.
"God, there's nothing but the dried land, some rubble, and just the city." She looked around as they walked forward.
"Ah, yes. Mhm, thank you for letting me know, I have never realized this before. This has changed my views and has taught me something I definitely haven't known since we got here." Phoduen turned to her.
"No wonder Merllivan said you're insufferable." She flicked his ear.
"Ow! And how dare he! I helped him all throughout that." He scoffed. "The audacity." He rolled his eyes as they finally reached the city. Nobody seemed to be paying attention to them.
"Look at that. They eat pills now. And why's the water, well I'm assuming it's their water, but- why is it bright blue??" Cecil pointed out.
"Well, they probably had to make do with artificial shit. Easy explanation." Phoduen squinted. "I want to destroy this place, but at the same time I want to be here for the inevitable self destruction of this world too." He huffed.
"Well, let's wait for that then. A nice change of pace, probably. But you know. maybe it'll be fun~! Just like with Vetimasia." She clasped her hands together, both holding the umbrella's handle.
"Fair enough, I guess. But the next one we'll obliterate, or at least I will." He commented, letting go of his weapon as it dematerialized into nothingness.
"Yeah, yeah, you destructive toddler." She grinned at him.
"You do not get to call me toddler just because you're taller." They began to walk deeper into the city.
